Blood

by littlemissaverage @ 2007-06-20 - 12:45:55

The school rang this morning to ask me to pick up my son, as he was very pale and had fainted.

Apparently some other boys in his class were playing some stupid game and had cut themselves, so that there was blood all over the desk.

It's not the first time he's fainted at the sight of blood.

The school have now informed me that he needs counselling to deal with it.

Do you think that's necessary? I feel like a bad parent now for not considering that he needed counselling 8|

Ah well he'll never be a Surgeon now!!!!

I wonder what makes people faint at the sight of blood. He's perfectly ok watching a gory horror film on tv.

Exactly. How can you be in a classroom and not notice kids playing a game that involves flicking 2p's as hard as they can at each others knuckles.

At least I know my son won't be playing it :))

As you may know, I benefitted from a spot of counselling myself recently when we had a very traumatic event to deal with at school - but there was more to it than a bit of blood from a cut!
I don't think he needs counselling unless he is so embarrassed and frightened of doing it again it's making his life a misery, which I can't imagine is the case.

crikey! what's going on?
you just have to carry on being yourself, trying to be the best parent you can - and tell the school you can deal with it yourself, thank you very much!
